Joana Lira 's explosive color and thick line work feels like folk art refined by 21st century technology. It made me think of Oaxacan folk art (shown below.) I love how she displayed the patterns as the background on her website.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck was wearing this adorable top by Alice + Olivia on The View today. No, I don't watch The View! It's what my mother is usually watching when I come downstairs in the morning. It looked a lot cuter on Elisabeth than this model. I guess most women that are watching this show at 10 am on a Monday have the luxury to buy tops this expensive, but I clearly don't have a rich husband or a job.

So, have you heard of Renegade Craft Fair? Pretty self-explanatory, it's a fantastic fair where really talented craft artists sell their goods. I just learned that it is coming to Austin! I'm going to apply, but that means I need to go into major production mode so that I can have something to show them by Feb 5th. I possibly need a fundraiser too. Oh dear.
