Perfect, naturally

Sometimes I happen upon an image like this and I am reminded that I could never create something as stunning as what already exists in nature. See the wedding here.

Sequin scales, how perfect is that? Reminds me of the Rainbow Fish. View more of her work here.

"A historic event"

And I quote from a newscaster "this is a historic event." I don't know if you heard about the blizzard of 2011 in Ol' San Antone. Schools closed, highways shut down, snowmen built.

Day Trip

Bryan and I took a day trip to Fredericksburg recently and stopped off at Rather Sweet Bakery. They have too many Texas sized desserts to choose from, and their sandwiches were tasty! I don't recommend the cupcakes though, too dry.

Textiles from around the world - Africa

Lately I've been admiring traditional textiles from around the world that have been popping up in stores, so I'm going to share some here, starting with Africa. {top photos by Brooke McKean of Senegalese women}

Do these ottomans and chairs look familiar? How about after you look at these ottomans at Anthropologie? I guess someone at Anthro visited the M'Afrique by Moroso show, which showcased modern furniture created using traditional African fabrics and weaving.
